Ina Mahoney died on October 23, 2009 after a very short battle with Colon Cancer. There were no symptoms and it was discovered with a routine exam. After surgery and one chemotherapy treatment, it was determined that the cancer was to far advanced to beat. Hospice was called to help take care of her. Gulfside Regional came in with a team of professionals to help with her care. They were great people to work with and made the next month a lot less stressful. They took care of Ina's needs as well as the families questions and concerns. They never charged the family a cent and depend on contributions to help them stay in business.

Bay Area Bassmasters would like to do our part to keep this organization helping those in need. We have pledged a $1.00 a pound for all fish brought to the scales. We raised $12,710.69 in 2022 year for a total of $75,513.51 in total donations since our first event in 2009. We are looking forward to continuing with this tradition in 2023 and beyond.

Thanks everyone for your continued support.

October 2026 - Lake Kissimmee

Each Month we will be putting together a Club Email to help keep our members up to date on what is happening within the Club.

LATEST ISSUE:

Hello all,

This is it. The end of our regular season for 2026. Five points separate the Mekdeci's ( Steve and Ryan ) and Team Richards Quality Automotive ( Tom and Bob ). It all comes down to Kissimmee and who figures them out. It has been a great year again and I want to thank everyone for their sportsmanship and camaraderie. Three teams need to fish this event to make the classic. Ron and Ron Hebert, Matt Sparks and Michael Touchton, and Don and Kenny Garand. Remember to make your reservations at Roland Martins as soon as possible because they will not hold the rooms but a couple more weeks. Also mark your calendars for November 21st for our end of year picnic and Ina Mahoney Hospice challenge. We hope you can make it and look for some things we can put in the raffle. Ask around your work, vendors, friends, enemies, brother in laws and whoever you can think of to help us raise money for Gulfside Hospice. Looking forward to a great classic and a great party the next weekend.

We have a little business to take care of tomorrow night. We have four possible rule changes to vote on. The discussions took place last month so this month we vote. Remember, you must be present to place your vote. One vote per active member. Your partner can't vote for you so if these changes are important to you, you must be there.

Rule #1 - Remove the size limit for bass. This would allow you to bring 5 bass of any size to the scales.

Rule #2 - Allow boaters to put their boats on the trailer prior to weigh-in. This would apply to every tournament.

Rule #3 - Remove the rule that allows teams to drop one tournament's points to determine their TAOY points. The points would be the total of all ten tournaments, not nine as it currently stands.

Rule #4 - The use of live forward facing sonar would be prohibited during tournament hours.

Thanks for a great year

P.S.

I had to make a change for our schedule next year because one of the lakes was not available. I just switched a couple and it should work out just as well. If you missed the meeting, you will be able to use forward facing sonar next year as well as trailer your boat prior to weighing your fish. You will be able to weigh-in a bass of any size next year as well. The TAOY will be based on all 10 tournaments next year as well. Here is the schedule for next year;

Jan 9          Walk-in-Water

Feb 13        Toho (Kissimmee chain) out of Southport

Mar 13        Panasoffkee

Apr  10       Reedy

May 8         Harris

June 12      Rousseau

July 10       Kissimmee (Lesters)

Aug 14       Winterhaven

Sept 11      Kissimmee River only  (River Ranch)

Oct 9         Mystery Lake

Nov 13-14    Classic TBD

That's your update, See you soon.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!!

Thank you for deciding to become a member of Florida’s # 1 largest B.A.S.S. Nation “Buddy" team tournament trail bass fishing club. Below is a brief description of how the Buddy team trail works.

TEAM TRAIL

After becoming members, you and your Buddy, or another member of your choice, fish together as a team through out the year. You are awarded points based on your tournament results from each month. (Tournament Rules) These points are accumulated through out the year to decide who ends up “Team Anglers of the Year” (TAOY). Adults may choose to fish with their own children as a team provided their child is a member of the kids club. (Bay Area Bassmasters is one of the only bass clubs in Florida which allows kids under 16 to fish in competition with adults). Alternates are allowed provided they are a current member of Bay Area Bassmasters. Tournaments are usually scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of each month. Our monthly meetings are always on the Tuesday before the tournament. At the end of the year, as long as you have fished at least 7 out of the 10 tournaments, you will qualify to fish in the “Classic” tournament which is a 2 day event to decide which team is the champion of the year.

Please feel free to join us at one of our (meetings) and check us out. Click on the icon below to download one of our membership forms to bring with you to the meeting. Our membership dues are listed on the form. Looking forward to having you join our club and help us grow into the #1 bass fishing club!!
